Cookies and personal data

To give you as a visitor the best possible experience of our websites, Sveapsykologerna uses cookies. Cookies are used so that we can see the choices you have previously made on our websites and to enable us to improve our websites. Cookies are also used to measure traffic on our websites and for statistics.

It is possible for you to make settings on your computer that prevent Sveapsykologerna and our content providers from placing cookies on your computer.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

A cookie is a small amount of data that usually has a unique stamp on it. This data is sent from a website's computer to your browser and stored there, on your hard drive, so that the website can recognize your computer. All websites can send cookies to your browser if your browser settings allow it. To prevent this information from being misused, websites can only read information from cookies stored by themselves and not any cookies stored by other websites.

There are two types of cookies, permanent and temporary (so-called session cookies). Permanent cookies are stored as a file on your computer for a longer period. Session cookies are temporarily placed on your computer when you visit a website, but disappear when you close the page, so they are not permanently stored on your computer. Most companies use cookies on their websites to improve usability and cookies cannot damage your files or increase the risk of viruses on your computer.

As a user, you have the option of setting whether you want cookies to be saved automatically in your browser, whether you want to be asked each time a cookie is saved or whether you want no cookies to be saved. Cookies are used on many websites, not just Sveapsykologerna, to keep track of whether the browser has visited the site before and what choices were made then. A check is made at each visit to the website whether cookies are stored in the browser or not. If there are no cookies stored by the website, the browser saves the cookies that are on the website.

Further information on cookies can be found on the website of the National Post and Telecom Agency, www.pts.se.
