My focus is to make you feel better so you can live more the way you want. The road there looks different and it is up to the two of us to find the road and the tools that suit you.
I work with CBT, the most effective therapy method. As a supplement, I work with relational therapy. An optimal combination! I work with both individual therapy and couples therapy. Usually I work with shorter therapies, usually around 15 sessions. It should be enough to achieve long-term effects.
You are welcome to come to me regardless of whether you struggle with anxiety, worry, stress, depression, self-esteem, relationship problems or anything else that affects you. Regardless of the problem, within CBT there are concrete tools to help you live more the way you want.
I also work with couples therapy. The reason why couples seek therapy varies, common reasons are communication problems, recurring conflicts, sexual difficulties, infidelity and separation. Through couple therapy, you get help to explore different strategies and get tools to deal with your problems in a better way. Many couples I have met over the years find that they come out of couples therapy strengthened, ready to face any problems in the future as a team.

Per U
I have worked as a layman. psychologist since 2001, as a doctor. psychotherapist since 2009 and I have been trained as a supervisor since 2018. I have extensive experience from work in psychiatry in Gothenburg. Has also worked at the Gothenburg City Mission at the outpatient clinic Stigbergsliden. In parallel with employment, I have worked as a private practitioner. psychologist/physician psychotherapist in own practice since 2009.
Experience and knowledge of, among other things:
Grief, anxiety, worry, depression, trauma, relationship problems, separations, existential questions, psychosis, addiction, compulsion, stress, low self-esteem, PTSD etc.
Psychotherapy:
As a human being, you encounter difficulties in life which can be difficult to handle and- or understand on your own or together with family and- or friends. Then it may be good to seek professional psychotherapeutic help. Psychotherapeutic talks include exploring together for a shorter or longer time the current difficulties that cause it now and exploring the underlying causes of your difficulties and - or symptoms that make life difficult. Through psychotherapeutic conversations, a meaningful understanding is created for you in your life situation, which in turn provides the opportunity for greater freedom in your life choices, now and in the future. The meeting and the relationship are always at the center. It is where the work takes place and development is made possible. The starting point in my psychotherapeutic work is relational psychotherapy on a psychoanalytic and psychodynamic basis (PDT) and mentalization-based therapy (MBT).
The reception is located in Linnestaden in central Gothenburg. The ages I work with psychotherapeutically are mainly 16 and up. I also meet couples. Some evening times are available. I'm used to therapies over a screen. I can speak English relatively well.

Staff
My name is Staffan and I have a personal, direct and clear communication style. After a number of years in the role of psychologist, I know that I can help those who are prepared to use the tools they are given to change their lives. "Do as you have always done, and it will be as it has always been." I think the hopeful thing about CBT is that you can see certain behaviors as areas of development, something you can train on instead of seeing it as a problem or that "you are this or that." I work with stress, exhaustion, anxiety and depression problems, crises and couples. I have my own experience both of entrepreneurship and of being in senior positions. I myself am a separated parent in the middle of life. I believe that these factors contribute in a positive way to being able to create alliances and understanding for people I meet.
The first conversation with me is no different from other meetings in that it might feel a little unfamiliar and tentative. This conversation is always a survey of the life situation and the reason for seeking help. Not all people "click" with each other, so this is also an opportunity for you as a client to decide if it feels right for you or if you want to see another therapist as you seek help for your own sake. As a client, you can choose whether you want to meet at the reception in central Gothenburg or digitally via video call.

Walid
Walid licensed psychotherapist and behavioral scientist specializing in systemic family therapy. He has extensive experience and has, among other things, worked with psychotherapy in family counselling, the Crisis Center in Malmö, student health in Lund and HVB homes with young people for 30 years.
Walid also uses emotionally focused therapy for couples (EFT) in my work with couples. The focus is on why the relationship is of great importance, what characterizes a bad relationship and what measures are required for a brighter future. Often it is about recreating a feeling of security and that the interaction should become more efficient. It is based on three parts: friendship, conflict management and agreeing on what applies to the particular relationship in question.
Walid has solid experience in working with IPT, interpersonal psychotherapy that focuses on how the psychological mood affects human relationships, how these relationships in turn affect one's mood and how one easily gets stuck and perpetuates the suffering. The method originated for the treatment of depression and has been developed to also treat, among other things, anxiety states, post-traumatic stress disorder, bulimia, bipolarity and dysthymia. An interpersonal inventory is made to investigate specific needs and prioritize which area is of greatest importance to you - complicated grief, conflict with loved ones, interpersonal vulnerability or role shift. The goal is to find out what the problem is based on, for a well-functioning and better feeling!
Walid can also offer psychotherapy in languages other than Swedish such as English, Arabic, Kurdish and Turkmen. In addition to therapy at reception, there is also the possibility of therapy via video calls and telephone calls.
