Self-Assessment Test for Autism
About the test
This self-assessment test is based on the RAADS-14 (Ritvo Autism and Asperger Diagnostic Scale-Revised 14), which is used as a screening tool to identify autism in adults. The test has been adapted for online use and provides you with an initial indication of whether you recognize yourself in common symptoms.
Purpose: Provides an indication of autism, but does not constitute a diagnosis. It is a first step in determining whether an evaluation is needed.
Target audience: Designed for adults with a verbal IQ above 80.
Structure: The scale covers areas such as social interaction, language, sensory/motor skills, and restricted interests.
Response options: Respond to the questions based on how true the statement is now compared to when you were growing up (e.g., "true now and when I was young," "never true").
Before you begin the autism test:
This test is not a substitute for a professional evaluation. A diagnosis can only be made by a licensed psychologist or physician with specialist expertise.
The questions in the test focus on core symptoms of autism, but do not take into account other factors that may affect concentration, impulsivity, or activity level.
The results provide an indication, not a complete picture, of how autism can manifest itself.
A high result may be a signal to take your difficulties seriously and consider contacting healthcare.
Remember: regardless of your score, it is important to seek help if you feel that your well-being is being affected in everyday life.
