Sveapsykologerna presents "Psychologsnack"

Presented by Sveapsykologerna and great.com

"Psychologist Talk" was created by Stefan Turlock and David Waskuri, with the aim of trying to find answers to the big and small life questions that we all have.

In a materialistic world, which is spinning faster and faster, it is now more important than ever to take care of and nurture your inner self.

How to do it?

In our part of the world, we have never had it so good, from an economic and materialistic perspective. Despite this, mental health problems and depression are skyrocketing among young adults.

Why is this the case and what can we do to reverse this negative trend?

We are trying to answer these questions and many more.

If you have a question, or would like to get in touch with one of us, email: fragastefanodavid@gmail.com

Sveapsychologists help you with your postponement behaviors

What is procrastination?

Procrastination is another word for procrastination. It is normal to want to put things off because people want to do behaviors before the deadline that is, before a consequence. Most people can recognize themselves in having postponed exams or work tasks until the last second. Some people have higher levels of the personality trait conscientiousness, which has two different parts: orderliness and industriousness. This trait, like the other Big 5 traits, is distributed according to a normal distribution curve, in which a certain amount of the population is in the upper or lower percentiles. The vast majority are somewhere in the middle of the curve, which means that these people are half-nervous and half-workaholic. When personality tests are used for selection purposes, a high score on conscientiousness is often attractive, as it means that the person in question will be hard-working and thorough. Unfortunately, you cannot determine your own personality - it is a combination of both heredity and environment. However, you can work on your weaknesses and train yourself to change your behavior. ADHD often involves problems with starting, completing and finishing tasks. In these cases, the problems are usually so severe that they affect functioning in several areas of life. Regardless of whether it is a major or minor problem with procrastination, the person can become more structured by formulating goals and sub-goals and using external aids such as a calendar, mobile phone reminders, etc.

Sveapsychologists treat sleep disorders

What does sleep disturbance mean?

Most people have experienced difficulties with sleeping at some point. Usually, these problems are temporary and do not cause major problems. In the case of sleep disorders, the difficulties are of such a degree that it feels as if you cannot function satisfactorily. The problems can manifest themselves in different ways. They may include difficulty falling asleep or an inability to maintain sleep. Poor quality sleep is another common problem. The quality of our sleep is closely linked to our overall well-being and the underlying causes are often highly individual. There are often physiological, mental and purely practical factors that contribute to sleep difficulties. Sleep difficulties are often the first sign of stress, anxiety or depression. What most people with sleep problems have in common is that they have developed a strong concern about their sleep. There are a number of different treatments for sleep. Some that have been shown to be effective are sleep restriction and stimulus control. This includes sleep mapping in the form of a sleep diary.
